Detailed Plot:
Little Red Hen wakes up the other animals staying at her Little Red Hen’s Coop and Boarding House (WE’RE AWAKE). It’s obvious that the Dog, the Cat and the Mouse are very lazy. When Little Red Hen announces that she is heading for the field to harvest the wheat she planted earlier, the boarders all have lame excuses as to why they can’t help. After she leaves to harvest the grain all by herself, the others complain about all the chores they have to do around the boarding house (I’M TOO BUSY!). Mouse is always picking on the Dog so Cat and Dog play a trick on the Mouse to get her to be a little nicer. Soon the Little Red Hen returns with a bag of flour and asks if anyone will help her bake the flour into bread. Again all the other animals are too busy and leave her to bake it herself (THE BAKING SONG). When it comes time to eat the freshly baked bread, all the animals race to get the first taste. Little Red Hen announces that whoever helped her can have some bread. They all complain that it’s not fair. Little Red Hen relents and tells them that she will give them one more chance. If they can work together as a team and solve three riddles, she will share her bread with them. They agree and start to work (TEAMWORK). They finally do solve the riddles Little Red Hen lets them all share in her delicious bread (THE FRIENDSHIP SONG).
