The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf
The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf
by Kevin M Reese]
Detailed Plot:
The show opens with the Narrator introducing the audience to Nicholas,
The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf (THE LITTLE BOY). Soon we
hear him and his two friends, Jake and Tanner, coming.
The two boys are, as usual, teasing Nicholas about his
name (HEEBEEJEEBIE RAP). After they finally leave,
Nicholas’ mom enters and tries to console him. She
reveals that he has a hard time resisting a dare. She
explains that he has a lot of responsibilities being the
town shepherd and that he can’t let his ego get in the
way of his decision making. As soon as Mom exits, The
Wolf approaches Nicholas. He has been eavesdropping and
heard that he can’t resist a dare. After tricking
Nicholas to reveal how many sheep he has in his flock,
he endeavors to make Nicholas yell “wolf” so many times
that the townspeople get mad at him, leaving the way
clear to scoop up as many sheep as he wants. (IT’S A
WOLF!) At first, the townspeople come running to help,
but after the third false alarm, they become angry at
Nicholas and don’t even bother checking on the sheep,
much to the pleasure of the Wolf. (I’M A WOLF) Nicholas’
Mom re-enters after hearing of his troubles. She
explains that once people label you as a liar– it’s very
hard for them to trust you again– but it can be done
with extra vigilance. He promises that he has learned
his lesson. When the Wolf appears to begin his meal with
all the sheep, he very smugly brags to Nicholas about
how easy it will be now that nobody will listen to his
pleas for help. Nicholas decides that if the townspeople
won’t come running anymore if he yelled “wolf,” perhaps
he could get them to come another way. (FIRE!) The
townspeople come running to save the sheep from a fire
and discover the wolf running away. They apologize to
Nicholas for not believing him before. (THE LITTLE BOY
