The True Story of the Tortoise and the Hare

History:
The True Story of the Tortoise and the Hare was first produced by The Wichita Children's Theatre Once Upon a Time series.  It opened February 17, 2005 and played seven performances.   Directed by John (JB) Boldenow and choreographed by Kyle Vespestad.  Nancy Bogard was Music Director.

Production Length: 35 minutes. Recommended for Audiences Age 3 and up.

Original Cast: 4, 2 Men, 2 Women.  Character genders are easily changed.

Hare (Henrietta) - Female
Mayor Wolf - Male

Synopsis:

What's a reporter to do?  While looking for a big story for her TV station, a reporter stumbles upon a Hare looking for someone to race.  Then  a Tortoise comes along, and before she can say "Lights, Camera, Action" she discovers that she has a chance to find out what appears to be the True Story of the Tortoise and the Hare.  The race goes on as we would expect-- and the Tortoise wins.  But the Hare wins, too, because she learns that sometimes it's not your opponent who beats you-- it's yourself.
